NEW YORK COMIC CON: TOP COW

NEW YORK -- Top Cow Productions announced a pair of creator-owned projects at is panel at New York Comic Con on Saturday.

Following are highlights:

* Darkchylde creator Randy Queen has a new title called Starfall, about a band of space pirates who land on a jungle planet and accidentally release defective nanobot technology that turns the local dinosaurs and cannibals into raging zombies. The space pirates are led by a female character named Sierra Starfall, a Flash Gordon/Tarzan type amalgam who's over 100 years old but doesn't look a day older than 25. She is considered to be the galaxy's greatest warrior.

* Witchblade writer Ron Marz will doing a series of creator-owned books with Top Cow. First up will be Dragon Prince, which will feature art by Lee Moder.

* Layouts for the Broken Trinity mini-series this summer will be done by Phil Hester, which artist Stjepan Sejic will use as he draws the books.

The crossover event is written by Marz and will be previewed with a 12-page story for Free Comic Book Day. The mini-series will be three issues and there will be three tie-ins.

* Top Cow recapped its line-up for the second Pilot Season.

The Art of the Witchblade book, similar to the Art of The Darkness , will have a cover that features Stjepan Sejic digitally painting over Michael Turneršs pencils from when the property was first launched.

* Hunter-Killer will likely return in 2009.
