THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN: "PERSONA"

Kids' WB! has released three images from "Persona," this Saturday's new episode of The Spectacular Spider-Man.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Spider-Man learns the hard way not to judge a book by its cover, when another Spider-Man starts making headlines ... as a crook! It's the Chameleon, master of disguise, looting the city and laying the blame at Spidey's feet. The Web-Slinger's forced to team up with another crook, the lovely Black Cat, to stop his foe's faux-Spidey crime spree and clear his name."

The episode was written by Matt Wayne and directed by Dan Fausett.

ZEN INTERGALACTIC NINJA, CAPCOM TITLES AT DEVIL'S DUE

Devil's Due Publishing on Tuesday announced it will return Zen Intergalactic Ninja this fall, as well as a new publishing deal with Capcom.

An all new 99-cent Zen preview story will reach stores in September, with a collection of Zenıs greatest tales due in October.

As part of an expansive package with Capcom, Devilıs Due will launch four new titles based on Capcom game properties, including Bionic Commando and Lost Planet. Details will be announced at Comic-Con International.

"DDP is very excited to be joining forces with Capcom," said DDP President Josh Blaylock. "Not only are these awesome games, but they have great stories behind them ripe for comics, including a vintage classic with Bionic Commando that's been revived along with the new sequel."

DDP's first collection of classic Zen will include the original series' "Rawhide" trilogy -- the story of Zen's fight against a terrorist who becomes a super-weapon after being irradiated by a nuclear explosion.

"Dan and I are particularly pleased that Devil's Due has decided to make that story the centerpiece of the first Zen trade paperback it will publish," said Stephen Stern, Zen co-creator/writer.

"Zen already has a cult following, and now is the perfect time to re-collect a lot of Zen's hard-to-find classic storyarcs and bring him back into comics for today's audience,² Blaylock said.

DDP plans to follow with other classic collections of Zen adventures.

"To me, comic-books should always be more than just damn good entertainment," said Stephen Stern, writer/co-creator of Zen Intergalactic Ninja. "That's why Zen turned his sights on saving Earth's environment, back in the early 90's. My co-creator Dan Cote and I had the opportunity to get the message across to hundreds of thousands of young people, through our Archie Comics series, an action figure line from Just Toys, and both a GameBoy and NES game from Konami."

BEANWORLD AT DARK HORSE

Dark Horse Comics has announced that, starting in early 2009, it will present Larry Marder's Beanworld as a series of graphic novels.

The graphic novels will collect all existing Beanworld stories, with new material to follow in the same format, beginning with the all-new graphic Remember Here When You Are There!

"When Beanworld was first published, many people said it was ahead of its time," Marder said. "Looking at today's world raised on Pixar, Cartoon Network and manga, I think it's fair to say that Beanworld's time has come. I'm looking forward to working closely with the team at Dark Horse to introduce the Beanworld to this comics-literate world!"

To whet the appetite of readers, Dark Horse will also release an all new Beanworld webcomic this fall, with a full color Beanworld comic book to follow in time for the holidays.

Marder said that Beanworld is about the affinity of life.

"It's like A Bug's Life meets Mutts, as told by Dr. Seuss and Joseph Campbell," Marder said. "It's a weird fantasy dimension that operates under its own rules and laws, but also reflects deep truths about our world in doing so. All the characters, whether they are friends or adversaries, understand that ultimately they depend on each other for survival. Beanworld isn't a place, it's a process, and I can't wait to share that process with a new generation of readers!"

"I couldn't be happier to welcome Larry Marder's wonderful stories home here at Dark Horse!" said Dark Horse president Mike Richardson. "I've always felt this is where they belonged, and I'm thrilled to be bringing them to today's readers."

IMAGE COMICS' THE ROBERTS

Image Comics on Tuesday announced that The Roberts, a two-issue mini-series by Wayne Chinsang and Erik Rose, will launch on August 6.

Here's how Image describes the series:

"For decades, the identities of the Boston Strangler and the Zodiac Killer have been shrouded in mystery. But this August, Image Comics/Shadowline reveals not only the identities of these two prolific killers, but also how theyıre spending their golden years of life.

"In The Roberts, the killers find themselves immersed in a world of bingo tournaments and social tea hours as they trade 'war stories' about what they refer to as the 'Golden Age' of mass murder. But camaraderie can also have a dark side as both men still crave the one thing they feel they've missed out on: infamy."

"I admit, I've always had a morbid fascination with serial murderers," said writer Chinsang, also known to the world by his real name, Justin Shady. "When Denis Rader (BTK) finally got caught in 2005 I remember thinking, 'What if this guy had never been caught? What would he be like as an 80-year-old man? Or as a grandfather? How long could someone like him go on living a lie, trying to blend in when he so clearly doesn't?' Those thoughts were the start of The Roberts."

The Roberts will be two 48-page, black-and-white issues.
