IRON MAN BOX OFFICE

Iron Man fell from the No. 1 position at the box office, but continued to perform well over the weekend.

Iron Man placed second with $31.2 million in its third weekend of release, pushing its domestic total to $222.5 million.

Iron Man dropped just 39 percent in its third week and became the first film of 2008 to surpass $200 million.

Iron Man is the sixth Marvel movie to top $200 million, joining Spider-Man ($403.7 million in 2002), X2 ($214.9 million in 2003), Spider-Man 2 ($373.6 million in 2004), X-Men: The Last Stand ($234.4 million in 2006) and Spider-Man 3 ($336.5 million in 2007). It should pass X-Men: The Last Stand this week to trail only the three Spider-Man movies among Marvel films.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspia topped the weekend with $56 million. Speed Racer continued to disappoint, bringing in a fouth-place $7.5 million for a total of $29.8 million.
