DARK HORSE COMICS FIRST LOOKS
FIRST LOOK: THE HELM #1
The Helm #1 will arrive in stores on July 16 from Dark Horse Comics. The issue is written by Jim Hardison, with art by Bart Sears.
Here's how Dark Horse describes the issue:
"What if you had a magical superpower and it hated your guts?
"Matt Blurdy's day has gone from crap to worse. Not only did his girlfriend break his heart at work--and in front of all of the video-store patrons--but he just got fired. All that's left to do is minibike his sorry, thirty-year-old (and freshly unemployed!) butt back home to his mom's basement and drown his sorrows in a bucket of extra crispy chicken while contemplating where his life went wrong.
"On the way home, Matt decides to quiet his aching heart with a brief detour to a garage sale. When an ancient-looking helmet calls to him as 'the Chosen One,' exhorting him to don the mantle of the "'Valhalladrim,' Matt touches it with trembling fingers--and is jolted by raw magical power. Holy crap! Is he going to be a superhero? Is this why he always felt special even when everyone else thought he was a loser? Then the helm gets a sense of whom it's dealing with. Suddenly, it changes its tune: 'I was mistaken. You are not the chosen one. Good day.
"But for once in his life, Matt's not taking no for an answer. Not today."
The Helm #1 will be 32 pages and will cost $3.50.

FIRST LOOK: STAR WARS: LEGACY #26
Star Wars: Legacy #26 will arrive in stores on July 23 from Dark Horse Comics. The issue is written by John Ostrander, with art by Jan Duursema and a cover by Omar Francia.
Here's how Dark Horse describes the issue:
"The Galaxy is in shreds from Darth Krayt's lesson in obedience. Cade Skywalker has resolved that this Sith Emperor must be stopped, not only to free himself and his friends from being hunted-but to save the Galaxy from further punishment. FIRST LOOK: USAGI YOJIMBO #113
Usagi Yojimbo #113 will arrive in stores on July 23 from Dark Horse Comics. The issue is by Stan Sakai.
Here's how Dark Horse describes the issue:
"The rabbit ronin Usagi and his bounty-hunting friend Gen pursue a dangerous criminal only to find themselves at odds with their sometimes-ally Stray Dog! After missing out on the reward for the rogue swordswoman Inazuma, Gen coerces the reluctant Usagi to join him in pursuit of another outlaw. Little do they know that Stray Dog is after the same bounty and determined to get it. One person knows where the outlaw is, and he's willing to tell, but for a price! Aware he has landed himself in a profitable situation, this scheming individual plays Gen and Stray Dog off each other--leaving Usagi caught in the middle!"
