The CW has announced that Season 8 of Smallville will premiere on Thursday, Oct. 2.

The network made the announcement in a bottom-screen crawl during Thursday's rebroadcast of "Gemini."

The crawl also reiterated that the new season will feature Justin Hartley's Oliver Queen/Green Arrow as a series regular and "will delve into Queen's origins and his complicated relationship with Lois Lane." It also hinted at a Justice League reunion.

The network also announced that there will be a Smallville panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego on Sunday, July 27.

* Marvel Comics has announced a second printing for the sold-out Invincible Iron Man #3.

The new printing will feature another homage to a classic Iron Man armor by Salvador Larroca on a new cover. It will be in stores on August 13.
