THE DARK KNIGHT: HEATH LEDGER

WORLD OF QUEST: SEASON 2

The World of Quest animated series, based on Jason Kruse's graphic novels, is continuing for a second season, although it's unclear where it will air domestically.

Thirteen half-hours from Cookie Jar Entertainment were shown earlier this year on The CW 4Kids. A representative of 4Kids told The Continuum that The CW schedule for the fall isn't ready for public release yet, but that seems an unlikely home for Season 2 of World of Quest.

"Cookie Jar is in the midst of production on Season 2 for all the various international broadcasters that have picked it up -- Jetix Europe, Teletoon and Cartoon Network UK," Kruse told The Continuum. "But despite its high ratings, no U.S. distributor yet. My fingers are still crossed."

Kruse said he is happy that the show is coming back. Thirteen more half-hours (26 11-minute episodes) are being produced.

"I'll be even happier if and when it's picked up here," he said. "At the very least it will keep my friends and family from constantly bugging me about it."

What will Season 2 be like?

"Cookie Jar is doing the usual bang-up job they did as last season," Kruse said. "It's more wacky, funny, irreverent stuff that appealed not just to kids but adults as well. I think it will just get better and better as time goes on."

BOOM! STUDIOS' THE REMNANT

Boom! Studios has announced it will premiere The Remnant, a new project create by Stephen Baldwin and Andrew Crosby, with a special-edition preview at Comic-Con International in San Diego.

The book will be available for five dollars, and Baldwin will be signing at the Boom! booth on Friday, July 25 and Saturday, July 26.

Described by the publisher as "a supernatural thriller in the vein of 24," The Remnant will explore fundamental questions of human life and perception of reality.

"I wanted to do a comic that asked the big questions but answered them in little ways," Baldwin said. "Philosophy and spirituality are complex beasts, but I believe literature's purpose is to contextualize these tricky subjects into entertaining stories that speak, not preach, to the reader."

Caleb Monroe, whose credits include Negative Burn and Parable, will script The Remanant. under the direction of Baldwin and Cosby, with art by Julian Totino Tedesco.

The 16-page preview book includes a sneak peek of the first few pages of The Remnant, including exclusive preliminary sketches by Tedesco and series cover artist Paul Azaceta.

IMAGE COMICS' SAVAGE

Following a series of covers, Mike Mayhew returns to interior art for Savage, a four-issue mini-series that launches in October from Image Comics.

The Shadowline title is written by Steve Niles, Dan Wickline and Jeff Frank and features "a horrific tale of man's primal nature."

"As a kid, I was always more drawn to horror comics, but I've never had the opportunity return to that as an adult," Mayhew said. "Savage is my chance to take everything I loved so much about the genre and run with it.

"The story Steve conceived with Dan hits every note I was hungry to hit and despite this being Jeff Frank's debut, he knocks the script out of park with Dan's help. Everyone involved knows and loves horror like nobody's business."

Savage figures to hit many aspects of the horror genre and culminates in an all-out war between bigfoot and a clan of werewolves.

Savage #1 will be in stores on Oct. 29 and will cost $3.50.
