SUNDAY, JULY 27, 2008COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL: ASPEN COMICS SAN DIEGO -- Following the death last month of founder Michael Turner, Aspen Comics will continue as a publisher and on Saturday staged a panel to preview its upcoming work.
Following are highlights:
* The schedule for Turner's Soulfire series will be revised. Plans for when the series will be finished, along with creators, will be decied shortly by Aspen.
* Soulfire: Shadow Magic, by Vince Hernandez and Sana Takeda, will launch in October.
* Michael Turner's Fathom: Volume 3 launched at Comic-Con, with the official release in two weeks. The new volume is wrtten by J.T. Krul, with art by Ale Garza.
* Aspen will be releasing an all-new miniseries Executive Assistant: Iris by David Wohl with art by Eduardo Francisco.
* The final issue of Shrugged will be released after a long delay. Frank Mastromauro plans to finish the series he co-wrote with Turner. The conclusion should be out in the fall.
* Mastromauro and Hernandez will be debuting an all-new series from Aspen in 2009.
