MAGDALENA MOVIE

Jenna Dewan, who will star as Patience the upcoming Magdalena movie, said it was an easy choice for her to take on the role.

"They sent me, about a year ago, the comic, to my manager," Dewan said at Top Cow's panel at Comic-Con International last weekend. "I had been wanting to do an action movie for three or four years. And I read the comic. And I called my manager that night and I said, "' have to do this movie.'

"I love the idea the idea that it is has a supernatural kind of figure and undertone to the whole comic. You don't see a lot of action movies that have that, especially women action movies."

"I will do all my own stunts, unless it's going to kill me," she said.

Top Cow's Marc Silvestri said Dewan showed him her fighting skills at a Maxim party and is going "to kick some ass."

Dewan added that with the religious aspects of the film, "It is nice to do something that is going to raise some awareness."

Dewan was joined at Top Cow's panel by Magdalena producer Gale Anne Hurd and co-star Luke Goss.

"I have to tell you that Jenna has learned more that all of you about Patience," said Hurd said, who promised to bring much from the film to the next Comic-Con and said it's "wonderful" to be working with Top Cow. Hurd recent credits include The Incredible Hulk and December's Punisher: War Zone.

Goss, who starred in Blade II and Hellboy II: The Golden Army, will play Kristof, an agent sent by the ultra secret organization that has been the guardian of the lineage of Magdalena.

Goss said he likes characters who are torturend. "He's a knight of the order, captain of the order, and he has an inner conflict with his duty," he said, adding his character live a solo existence.
