Batman the Dark Knight


THE DARK KNIGHT BOX OFFICE

The Dark Knight is in a position to top the box office for a fourth consecutive weekend, placing a close second to Pineapple Express on Friday.

The Batman sequel brought in an estimated $7.5 million on Friday, slipping 41 percent from the previous Friday, to Pineapple Express' $7.8 million.

Friday's box office pushed The Dark Knight's total to $423.0 million.

The film, starring Christian Bale and Heath Ledger, should pass Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest $423.3 million and Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace's $431.0 million on Saturday and move into fifth place all time.



MARVEL COMICS ROUNDUP

Marvel Comics has unveiled Tom Raney's cover to Marvel: Your Universe, a free comic book due in stores on August 27.

The 32-page book features a look at the major Marvel events of the last five years and contains preview material from the new Marvel Handbook hardcovers along with never-before-seen handbook material.
