THE DARK KNIGHT PASSES $500 MILLION

The Dark Knight continued to make history over the weekend, becoming the second film ever to pass $500 million in domestic gross.

The Batman sequel pulled in an estimated $8.8 million over the weekend -- its seventh week of release -- to push its total to $502.4 million.

The film joins 1997's Titanic ($600.7 million) as the only movies to surpass $500 million.

The Dark Knight placed third at the box office over the weekend, trailing Tropic Thunder's $11.5 million and Babylon A.D.'s $9.7 million.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars placed 11th with $2.9 million, pushing its total to $29.8 million.

KNIGHT RIDER: "A KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR"

NBC has released a description from "A Knight in Shining Armor," the series premiere of Knight Rider, scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 24.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Mike (Justin Bruening) and KITT (voiced by Val Kilmer) are assigned a seemingly easy package delivery -- until they realize the package is actually a man with vital top secret code decryption built into his DNA. The mission gets complicated when the enemies, including a mysterious woman (guest star Paula Garces), seem to know a great deal about Mike and a past he can't recall."
