HEROES: HAYDEN PANETTIERE

Hayden Panettiere, who returns as Claire in Season 3 of NBC's Heroes, said viewers will see that Sylar isn't the worst villain among the powered characters.

"There's always going to be someone meaner and stronger and more powerful," Panettiere said.

KNIGHT RIDER EPISODES

NBC has released descriptions for two upcoming episodes in its revised schedule for Knight Rider.

The Wednesday, Oct. 8 episode is "Knight of the Iguana."

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Mike (Justin Bruening) and Zoe (Smith Cho) go undercover in Baja as a honeymooning surfer couple in order to stop terrorist weapons from getting into the states. Sarah (Deanna Russo) and Billy (Paul Campbell) are brought into the mix and they quickly find the mission taking an unusual turn."

The Wednesday, Oct. 15 episode if "A Hard Day's Knight."

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"When Mike is lethally poisoned, he must fake the assassination of a billionaire tech mogul in order to secure the antidote. Bizarre hallucinations mark the return of the mysterious woman (guest star Paula Garces) from Mike's past with clues that may help him remember."

BRIEFLY

* Lionsgate has provided The Continuum a look at the new character posters from The Spirit.

The posters feature Gabriel Macht as The Spirit and Samuel L. Jackson as Octopus.

The film will be in theaters on Dec. 25. Click on the thumbnails for larger images.

* Image Comics has announced a third printing for Savage Dragon #137, in which Savage Dragon endorses Barack Obama for president.

"We've been printing much more than we predicted needing and the demand just kept growing," said Savage Dragon creator Erik Larsen. "I'm thrilled to know that whether people agree or disagree with Dragon, they're extremely passionate about what may be the most important U.S. presidential election yet."

The third printing will be in stores on Oct. 15.

* IDW Publishing has announced that Greg Goldstein has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer.

Goldstein most recently was Vice President of Gaming and Entertainment at Upper Deck. Prior to that, Goldstein was CEO and Founder of Popmania, a development and brand-licensing agency focusing on digital entertainment located in New York.

"Greg's demonstrated leadership capabilities and solid background in consumer entertainment publishing make him the ideal person to help guide us through the next phase of our growth," said IDW CEO Ted Adams. "We are especially excited to leverage his entrepreneurial spirit, creative skills and extensive relationships in the entertainment industry."

* 30 Days of Night premieres on Starz on Saturday at 9 p.m. Additional upcoming viewing times include Sunday, Sept. 28 at 4:40 a.m. and 5:35 p.m.; Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 3:35 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and 9 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 3 at 9 p.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 4 at 4:50 a.m. and 4:50 p.m.

* Fox's Sunday night animation block will be pre-empted on Oct. 12 when the network televises Major League Baseball's National League Championship Series.
