DARK HORSE COMICS TO RELEASE NEW TERMINATOR COMICS

Dark Horse Comics has announced it will be releasing new Terminator material in 2009, to coincide with the first film's 25th anniversary.

According to the publisher, a creative team will be announced "shortly."

Rand Marlis, President of Creative Licensing Corporation who represents all Terminator tie-ins, said "I'm thrilled to be once again working with Dark Horse. They are a superb comic book company and really know the Terminator world. Our prior Dark Horse comics are classics and we look forward to more quality stories and art from the Dark Horse team."

Dark Horse president and publisher, Mike Richardson said, "We've had great success with the ongoing saga of Sarah and John Connor in the past, and the worldwide interest in Terminator has us eager to begin a brand new series picking up where we left off."

IDW Publishing has the rights to the new film, Terminator: Salvation, and has solicited a prequel mini-series for January. Dynamite Entertainment has a Terminator: Revolution mini-series that launches in December.

DABEL BROTHERS ACQUIRES DEAN KOONTZ'S NEVERMORE

Dabel Brothers Publishing has announced the acquisition of an original story by Dean Koontz that will be developed as a comic book. Dean Koontz's Nevermore -- written by Keith Champagne, based on an outline by Koontz, and illustrated by Andy Smith -- will be published in five issues between February and June.

Here's how the series is described:

"Nevermore's hero is 35-year-old multibillionaire Robert Godric. In a desperate attempt to bring back his wife, Nora, who died at 33 of an aggressive brain cancer, Godric invents cross-time travel and searches for a living Nora on the infinity of parallel Earths. Inadvertently, he and his team encounter an alien hivelike race -- the Hydra -- that is conquering Earth after Earth after Earth. If the Hydra find our version by following Godric back to it, our civilization will not survive the invasion."

Del Rey, an imprint of Ballantine Books at the Random House Publishing Group, will distribute a collected edition of the individual comics.
