WONDER WOMAN ON MARCH 3

Warner Home Video has announced a March 3 release date for Warner Bros. Animation's Wonder Woman movie.

Wonder Woman will be available as a single-disc DVD for $19.98 (SRP), 2 Disc Special Edition DVD for $29.98 and Blu-ray for $34.99 (SRP). The movie will also be available OnDemand and Pay-Per-View as well as available for download on March 3.

Produced by Bruce Timm, Wonder Woman is an origin story and features a voice cast including Keri Russell, Nathan Fillion, Alfred Molina, Virgina Madsen, Rosario Dawson, Oliver Platt and David McCallum. The film is written by Michael Jelenic and directed by Lauren Montgomery.

Here's how the Warner describes the film:

"Wonder Woman begins on the mystical island of Themyscira, where a proud and fierce warrior race of Amazons resides. They have raised Princess Diana, a daughter of stunning beauty, extraordinary strength and incredible fighting prowess. Diana possesses a host of super human powers granted to her by the gods and goddesses of Olympus and her strength and stamina are unparalleled. When Air Force fighter pilot Steve Trevor crash lands on the island, the rebellious and headstrong Diana defies Amazonian law by accompanying Trevor back to civilization.

"Meanwhile, Ares (the God of War) has escaped his imprisonment at the hands of the Amazons and has decided to exact his revenge by starting a world war that will destroy them all. It is up to Princess Diana to save her people and the world by using her gifts to become the ultimate Wonder Woman."

DC COMICS ROUNDUP

DC Comics has announced new contents for Tiny Titans #12, making it a part of the DC Universe's "Faces of Evil" month.

Here's how DC describes the new contents:

"In this special 'Faces of Mischief' issue, see what happens in the average day of the faculty of Sidekick Elementary as we follow the antics of Principal Slade and Trigon. The Tiny Titans have their own ideas of what goes on in the Teacher's Lounge -- but how close are they to the truth?"

"When I heard about 'Faces of Evil,' I knew Trigon had a face that needed to be shared with the world," writer/artist Art Baltzar said.

"Trigon is such a fatherly figure, why wouldnšt you want his face on a cover?" writer Franco said "It's not like he's evil or something."

The story and cover originally solicited for this issue will now appear in Tiny Titans #13. Tiny Titans #12 is scheduled to arrive in stores on January 21.

In other DC news:

* Final Crisis #5 is now scheduled to be in stores on Dec. 10.

* Frank Quitely is providing a variant cover for Wonder Woman #27, in stores on Dec. 24.

STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS: "BOMBAD JEDI"

Lucasfilm has released a video preview from "Bombad Jedi," Friday's new episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars on Cartoon Network.

To view the clip, CLICK HERE.

Here's how the episode is described:

"Jar Jar Binks and C-3PO team up to save Padme Amidala from doom at the hands of evil Viceroy Nute Gunray. But the task becomes infinitely more complicated when the Separatists assume that the Gungan is a Jedi."

Director Jesse Yeh said Jar Jaršs overstated mannerisms and physicality make him a natural for The Clone Wars animated format.

"Jar Jar's looks, expressions and his characteristic personality allow us to animate him to levels of exaggeration that really stand out from the other human characters or two-legged creatures," Yeh said.

"To me, his character is almost right out of the classic Disney or Warner Bros. cartoons. He is not always completely 'there,' he is clumsy and he seems to have a talent for making mistakes that really matter -- sometimes in a constructive way, sometimes in a destructive way. I think it's easy to be attracted by his innocent, childlike, naive side. He's like a loveable, well-meaning friend -- one you don't want around when it's a matter of life and death. But once you've lived through the crisis, you definitely want to invite him to the celebration party."

The episode was written by Kevin Rubio, whose credits include Dark Horse Comics' Tag & Bink.

"I wanted to find a middle ground between the funny side of Jar Jar and heroic redemption," Rubio said. "He is a fish out of water, and, yeah, he can be goofy and stupid, but in context, it works.

"There's a phrase that I think applies to almost every episode that Išve seen, and I know it influenced me on this episode. It appears in the prologue to the original Star Wars novelization: 'They were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Naturally they became heroes.' I think that says it all for Jar Jar."
