FIREBREATHER ON CARTOON NETWORK SLATE

The animated Firebreather movie -- based on the Image Comics series by Phil Hester and Andy Kuhn -- was listed among Cartoon Network's projects for the 2009-2010 season at its upfront presentation on Wednesday.

Peter Chung from Aeon Flux is attached to direct the movie, which was written by Jim Kreig. Julia Pistor is executive producer, and Hester and Kuhn are co-exective producers.

Here's how Cartoon Network describes the movie, which was first announced last summer:

"Cartoon Network's first original all-CG animation adventure presents Duncan Rosenblatt, a rather typical, awkward high school kid, except that his dad is a fire-breathing dragon and he is destined to protect the earth."

Also at the presentation, second seasons for Batman: The Brave and the Bold and Star Wars: The Clone Wars were formally confirmed.

Man of Action -- the studio featuring Joe Kelly, Joe Casey, Duncan Rouleau and Steven Seagle -- will have another Ben 10 series tentatively titled Ben 10: Evolutions and a new series, Generator Rex, about a 15-year-old who can create machines out of his body. There will also be a second live-action movie, Ben 10: Alien Swarm.

SMALLVILLE: "ETERNAL"

The CW has released nine images from "Eternal," the Thursday, April 2 episode of Smallville.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Tess (Cassidy Freeman) tries to kill Davis (Sam Witwer) by blowing up his truck. However, after he escapes, she realizes she needs help to destroy him and turns to Clark (Tom Welling). Tess reveals Davis' secret childhood with the Luthors and hints that she knows Clark's true identity. Meanwhile, Davis runs to Chloe (Allison Mack) for help."

James Marshall directed the episode, which was written by Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders.
