BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD ROUNDUP

Warner Home Video has announced an August 25 release for Batman: The Brave and the Bold Vol. 1 on DVD.

The DVD will collect four episodes from the Cartoon Network series: "Rise of the Blue Beetle!," "Terror on Dinosaur Island!," "Evil Under the Sea!" and "Invasion of the Secret Santas!"

Suggested retail price is $14.96.

In other Batman: The Brave and the Bold news:

* Cranford Wilson is providing the voice of Robin and Jeffrey Tambor is the voice of Crazy Quilt in "The Color of Revenge" episode airing on May 22.

* James Arnold Taylor is providing the voice of Major Disaster in the Red Tornado-themed episode titled "Hail the Tornado Tyrant!"

FRIDAY BOX OFFICE

Star Trek pushed X-Men Origins: Wolverine to second place at the box office on Friday.

Star Trek brought in an estimated $24 million on Friday following $7 million on Thursday night.

Star Trek's combined $31 million still trailed X-Men Origins: Wolverine's opening day of $34.4 million for largest opening day of 2009.

Wolverine brought in $8.5 million on Friday to push its total to $111.1 million.
