MARVEL SUPER HERO SQUAD: TAMERA MOWRY

Tamera Mowry is providing the voice of Misty Knight for Cartoon Network's upcoming Marvel Super Hero Squad animated series.

Misty will appear on the show with her frequent cohorts from the comics, Iron Fist and Luke Cage.

Mowry, 30, is probably best known from the late 1990s series Sister, Sister. She recently has appeared on the ABC Family series Roommates.

Twenty-six episodes of Super Hero Squad will begin airing late this year.

In other Super Hero Squad casting news, 16-year-old Antony Del Rio is providing the voice of Reptil.

Look for more on the series soon here in The Continuum.

HEROES ROUNDUP

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Madeline Zima will appear in multiple episodes of the fourth season of NBC's Heroes.

Also a cast member of Showtime's Californication, Zima will play Gretchen a "quirky" college student who rooms with Claire.

WITCHBLADE #128 HOMAGE COVER

Top Cow Productions has unveiled an homage cover variant by artist Luke Ross for Witchblade #128, due in stores on July 8.

Ross' cover depicts a dramatized pose of Dani holding a mortally wounded Sara as other characters look on from the background. It is a direct homage to the 1980 John Byrne cover of Marvel Comics' Uncanny X-Men #136 and is similarly inspired by the George Perez cover of DC Comics' Crisis on Infinite Earths #7.

The use of the homage cover for Witchblade #128 signifies the major plot developments and character conflicts that are central to the "War of the Witchblades" story arc. The issue is the fourth part of a six-part story arc by Ron Marz and Stjepan Sejic.

"Obviously things don't look too promising ... for Sara or anyone else ... by the end of Witchblade #127," Marz said. "The Luke Ross cover for issue #128 definitely takes that in account, and gives us a chance to homage two of the great covers in the history of comics in John Byrne's Uncanny X-Men #136 shot, as well as the George Perez Crisis #7 image. If there was ever a time for this kind of cover on Witchblade, it's now."
