ARCHIE COMICS' CEO: JON GOLDWATER

Archie Comics is keeping it in the family. Jon Goldwater -- the son of Archie Comics founder John L. Goldwater -- has been appointed CEO of Archie Comics.

Goldwater began his career 20 years ago as the partner to the Japanese concert promoter, Zak Concerts. On Zak Concerts' behalf, Goldwater negotiated concert major tours of Japan include the Super Rock Festival and many others. He is the former President and CEO of AFA Music Group, Ltd., the executive producer of the film, Return of Superfly, He has served as President and CEO of Crash Management Inc.

Goldwater purchased an ownership interest in the company. In his first few days as CEO he has already started negotiations on projects that will be announced shortly, including an Archie feature film, a new Archie animated project, a Katy Keene television program and a music deal for the Archies.

* Marvel Comics has announced a second printing for the sold-out Ultimatum: Spider-Man Requiem #1. The new printing will be in stores on July 22 and will feature Stuart Immonen's interior artwork as a wraparound cover.

* Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen pulled in $60.6 million in its first day, setting a record for a Wednesday opening.

* Heroes' Hayden Panettiere will be a guest on CBS' The Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday, July 7.
