THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN: "REINFORCEMENT"

The "Reinforcement" episode of The Spectacular Spider-Man will make its debut on Disney XD on Monday at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

Here's how the episode is described:

"As Christmas approaches, the Sinister Six reconstitutes with Sandman, Rhino, Vulture, Electro and new members Mysterio and Kraven.  All they want for Christmas is Spider-Man -- dead.  Meanwhile, Peter Parker finds his wandering eye prevents him from being with Gwen Stacy.  He'll have to learn to focus if he wants to get the girl... and if he wants to stay alive."

The episode was written by Andrew Bobinson and directed by Mike Goguen.

"The Sinister Six are back for some Christmas-Eve revenge against your favorite web-slinger, but this time they've got some strategy and a Master Plan to dampen Spidey's holiday spirit, permanently," Robinson told The Continuum. "I know it seems a little odd to be watching Spidey freeze his blue-and-red tushy off in the heat of our summer, but that's scheduling for you!

"You may remember that I wrote the previous Sinister Six episode, during the black suit saga, and I remarked what a pain it was to write all those characters and give them enough screen time. Well... this time around it was even worse! And by worse, of course, I mean even more fun, because Spidey really has to use not just his powers but his noggin to beat all those bad guys again. Of course it's not exactly the same six, as the two newest members of the rogues' gallery, Mysterio and Kraven, have stepped in for Shocker and Doc Ock... but with Mike Goguen's dynamic directing, the action will not disappoint."

"Reinforcement" will follow a repeat of "Destructive Testing" starting at 7 p.m.

In other The Spectacular Spider-Man news, the series will join Spider-Man, Spider-Man Unlimited and Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends for a marathon on Disney XD on Saturday, July 4. Two episodes of each series will be shown, beginning at 8 a.m. (ET/PT).
