MARVEL X-MEN VOLUMES 3 AND 4

Buena Vista Home Video has released the episode breakdowns for Marvel X-Men Volumes 3 and 4.

Both two-disc sets, collecting episodes from Fox Kids' 1990s animated series, will be in stores on Sept. 15 and will carry a suggested price of $23.99.

MARVEL COMICS ROUNDUP

Marvel Comics has unveiled the decades variant covers for Black Panther #6, Incredible Hercules #131 and Wolverine: Origins #38.

All of the covers feature the 1940s and will be in stores in August.

* The publisher has announced that writer J. Michael Straczynski will end his run on Thor with Thor: Defining Moments Giant-Size #1 in September.

"It's been a terrific run, and a lot of fun," said Straczynski, who called Thor "a high-water experience for me."

Here's how Marvel describes the story:

"As the final curtain falls, will Thor's closest allies save him from the machinations of Loki? What does Dr Doom have planned? And just who will rule Asgard?"

BRIEFLY

* Asylum Press had announce that Asylum of Horrors #2 will contain a new story from Tim Vigil. Vigil brings his highly stylized voice to a post apocalyptic wasteland in "Survival Extinction Z."

Vigil's story will be a three-parter that will be continued in subsequent issues of Asylum of Horrors. The second issue of Asylum of Horrors will also include stories from Frank Forte, Szymon Kudranski, Billy George, Darren Sellars, Patrick Shanahan, Nenad Gucunja and Marcin Ponomarew. The cover is by Aly Fell.

* Andrew Robinson has written an episode of Marvel's upcoming The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes animated series.

* Chris Perna has provided a variant cover to DC Comics' Gears of War #9.

* The Sunday, July 19 episode of Family Guy on Fox will be a repeat of "Three Kings."
