MARVEL COMICS ROUNDUP

Marvel Comics has unveiled Peter Bagge's covers to Strange Tales #2, due in stores in October.

The 48-page issue features stories by Bagge, Max Cannon, Jacob Chabot, Jonathan Hickman, R. Kikuo Johnson, Matt Kindt, Michael Kupperman, Tony Millionaire and Jim Rugg.

"The tremendous amount of creative energy that these incredible talents have brought to bear on their individual contributions has made for some of the most fun Marvel stories ever told," said series editor Jody LeHeup.

"The quality of their work simply cannot be overstated. And with issue two we have even more of it to share with the world. All the creators involved have poured their passion for these characters onto every page and the end result is nothing short of amazing. I cannot wait for this book to be in stores so everyone else can be as excited about this project as all of us are."

REPORT: RYAN REYNOLDS TO PLAY GREEN LANTERN

Ryan Reynolds will play Hal Jordan/Green Lantern in Warner Bros.' Green Lantern movie, Daily Variety is reporting.

Warner Bros. has not confirmed the report. According to a representative for DC Comics, the publisher had "no comment."

Green Lantern would be Reynolds' third comic book movie. He played Hannibal King in Blade: Trinity and he played Wade Wilson/Deadpool in X-Men: Origins Wolverine.

He reportedly has also been attached to star in a Deadpool movie.

Martin Campbell is directing the film, which could begin production as early as January.

Greg Berlanti wrote the script with Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green.
