MARVEL ANIMATION ROUNDUP

Sony Pictures has released a description and two images from "Growing Pains," the episode of The Spectacular Spider-Man that debuts on Disney XD on Monday.

Here's how Sony describes the episode:

"Venom is back and framing Spider-Man. Meanwhile, alien spores infect John Jameson, increasing his size, strength and mass. J. Jonah Jameson convinces his son to become a super-hero to capture Spidey."

"Growing Pains" was written by Nicole Dubuc and directed by Mike Goguen.

In other Marvel animation news:

* New episodes of Wolverine and the X-Men resume on Nicktoons on Friday, July 31. The next episode is "Stolen Lives," featuring Wolverine, Sabretooth and Mystique.

* Marvel will preview its Iron Man and Wolverine anime series, produced with Japanese animation studio Madhouse, at Comic-Con International on Friday, July 24. The series are the first of four and were developed by Warren Ellis.
