MONDAY, AUGUST 10, 2009CHICAGO COMIC-CON: X-MEN PANELROSEMONT, Ill. -- Marvel Comics' X-Men panel at Chicago Comic-Con on Sunday included three announcements of new projects.
Panelists included Jason Aaron, Craig Kyle, Chris Yost and Jim McCann.
Following are highlights:
* S.W.O.R.D. is a new series that launches in november and is written by Kieron Gillen, with art by Stephe Sanders and covers by John Cassaday.
McCann said that the series picks up on threads from Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men and will feature Agent Brand, Beast and Lockheed.
Henry Gyrich is the new leader of S.W.O.R.D. and his first directive to ridding the Earth of all aliens.
* Dark X-Men is a five-issue mini-series that launches in November. The book is written by Paul Cornell, with art by Leonard Kirk and will feature Nate Grey (X-Man).
* Wolverine: Mr. X is a one-shot scheduled for January, written by Frank Tieri with art by Paco Diaz Luque
* Marvel will be doing a digital series featuring Wolverine and Thor.
