SPIKE TV SCREAM 2009

Geoff Johns was named Best Comic Book Writer, Watchmen was chosen Best Comic Book Movie and Twilight and True Blood scored big at the Spike TV SCREAM 2009 awards Saturday night at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles.

The ceremony will be edited into a two-hour special that will premiere on Spike TV on Oct. 27.

In accepting the award, Johns noted that he thought it was cool that comic books were being acknowledged at the event and thanked the artists with whom he has worked.

Jackie Earle Haley, who played Rorschach, accepted the award on behalf of Watchmen. Earlier on the red carpet, he acknowledged recent reports about his possibly playing Sinestro in the Green Lantern movie. "You know as much as I do," he said.

Best Sci-Fi Actress: Megan Fox, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Breakout Performance Male: Taylor Lautner, Twilight.

Best Comic Book Movie:: Watchmen.

Rock Immortal Award: Keith Richards.

Best Horor Movie: Drag Me to Hell.

Best Horror Actor Male: Stephen Moyer, True Blood.

Best Horror Actor Female: Anna Paquin, True Blood.

Scream Mastermind Lifetime Achievement Award: George A. Romero.

Best Director: JJ Abrams, Star Trek.

Best Super-Hero: Hugh Jackman, X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Best TV Show: True Blood.

Best Fantasy Movie: Twilight.

Ultimate Scream: Star Trek (William Shatner accepted.)

Comic-Con Icon Lifetime Achievement Award: Stan Lee.
