STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS: "THE LANDING AT POINT RAIN"

Lucasfilm has released a video preview from the "The Landing at Point Rain" episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, scheduled to premiere on Cartoon Network on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

To view the clip, CLICK HERE.

Here's how the episode is described:

"Anakin, Ahsoka and Ki-Adi-Mundi lead a landing party to destroy a droid factory that Poggle the Lesser has rebuilt on Geonosis, but things go terribly awry when Separatist gunners shoot down the Republic ships. Despite heavy losses, Anakin and Ki-Adi-Mundi must rendezvous in time to destroy the enemy factory before it can begin production."

"There's no way we could have done something like this in the first season," said Dave Filoni, supervising director of the episode's action. "We just didn't have the assets to populate a battle this big, but we've learned so much and we're still learning. It's pretty amazing to be able to do something so theatrical and ambitious."

TODD MCFARLANE, ROB LIEFELD TEAM ON SPAWN

Image Comics has announced that Todd McFarlane will share art duties with Rob Liefeld on Spawn #196, the conclusion of the "Endgame" story arc.

"I was looking for good artistic help, and remembered inking over Rob on his New Mutant covers back in the Marvel days, and most recently a little bit of Image United," McFarlane said. "I thought it would be a fun experiment to see what (Greg) Capullo layouts, Liefeld pencils and my inks looked like together on a handful of pages."

Here's how Image describes the issue:

"In the conclusion of Spawn: Endgame, reporter Marc Rosen connects the miracle patient stories to the new Spawn, Jim Downing, as detectives Sam, Twitch and Rowand discover the association between Downing's awakening, Bill Winston's suicide and the Nortego crime syndicate."

Spawn #196 will be in stores on Nov. 25.

NOVELIST S.E. HINTON WRITES GRAPHIC NOVELS FOR BLUEWATER

Bluewater Productions has announced a partnership with author S.E.Hinton.

The Washington-based comic book company has contracted to do various titles with Hinton, the first to be her young adult novel Taming of the Star Runner. Bluewater's new franchise will also include Hinton's childrenšs book The Puppy Sister, and a new young adult title that Hinton will create specifically for the publisher.

"I grew up reading S.E. Hinton's books, so to bring these to a graphic novel format is a dream come true for me," said Bluewater publisher Darren G. Davis. "The best part is getting to work with Hinton one on one. We have talked about the new title, which is on the lines of her iconic work The Outsiders."

Taming of the Star Runner is scheduled for a spring 2010 release. The Puppy Sister graphic novel and the new young adult series are scheduled for the summer. The creative teams on the books will be Don Smith, CW Cooke, Guilherme Rafid and Yasir Fajardo.

Here's how Bluewater describes Taming of the Star Runner:

"Taming of the Star Runner is a story of Travis, who is the epitome of cool, even when he's in trouble. But when he's sent to stay with his uncle on a ranch in the country, he finds that his schoolmates don't like his tough city ways. He does find friendship of a sort with Casey, who runs a riding school at the ranch. She's the bravest person Travis has ever met, and crazy enough to try to tame the Star Runner, her beautiful, dangerous horse who's always on edge, about to explode. It's clear to Travis that he and the Star Runner are two of a kind, creatures not meant to be tamed."
