MONDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2009WATCHMEN ON HBO Watchmen, the Warner Bros. film based on the comic book by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, will premiere on HBO on Saturday, Jan. 9 at 8 p.m.
The version of the film airing on HBO will have a running time of 2 hours, 42 minutes.

DC COMICS ROUNDUP DC Comics has announced Superman: Earth One and Batman: Earth One, two graphic novels spotlighting the heroes' first years and earliest moments, retold in a standalone, original graphic novel format, on a new earth with a new continuity.
Superman: Earth One will be written by J. Michael Stracyznski, with art by Shane Davis.
Batman: Earth One will be written by Geoff Johns, with art by Gary Frank.
The pair are part of a series of Earth One OGNs.

BRIEFLY* Warner Home Video has released the box art for Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths.

* The Hero Initiative has announced that The Invincible Gene Colan is now a hardcover, offered at the same price of $19.99.
The book will be in stores in February, and through an arrangement with Marvel Comics, there will be only one printing.
The 128-page book features analysis from Stan Lee, Roy Thomas, John Romita, Walter Simonson, Neil Gaiman, Tom Spurgeon and Tom Palmer and is edited by Clifford Meth.
