ARCHIE TEAMS WITH NICK CANNON ON JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS

Archie Comic Publications has announced a partnership with Nick Cannon's NCredible Entertainment to develop scripted and non-scripted television series based on Josie and the Pussycats.

As part of Cannon's vision to revive the comic-book rock trio, a worldwide search for the new Josie, Melody and Valerie will be chronicled on a potential reality competition series. The plan also includes a possible Josie offshoot, a dramedy scripted series starring the new band members.

In addition, Archie plans to launch several new publishing projects for Josie and the Pussycats to coincide with the new series.

"We are thrilled to be working with Nick Cannon and the NCredible Entertainment team," said Archie Comics Co-CEO Jon Goldwater. "His relentless passion and compelling creative vision is exactly what Archie Comics is all about. Through this partnership we envision endless possibilities with Archie's vast library of intellectual properties married with Cannonıs range of interests and talents."

Said Cannon: "Archie Comics and Josie and the Pussycats are both iconic brands that I am excited to be working with. It is my vision to create a multi-platform campaign to bring the Josie and the Pussycats brand to life. I am grateful for the opportunity and look forward to experiencing huge success together."

ANGEL GETS SECOND PRINTING

IDW Publishing has announced a second printing for Angel #28, the first issue by writer Bill Willingham, which sold out one day after release.

The issue kicked off a story arc called "The Crown Prince Syndrome."

The new printing will be in stores on Jan. 6 and will feature a new cover by Brian Denham.

"Bill brings a lot of fun and depth to this storyline, not to mention these iconic characters, so Iım very pleased weıre already in our second printing," said IDW associate editor Mariah Huehner. "Hopefully the fans will continue to enjoy the story weıre telling. I can promise you, it only gets better from here."

Willinghamıs first story arc focuses on what life is like for Angel now that the Fall is over and he's become the idolized, adored, and extremely visible hero of L.A. Angel's fame definitely makes it harder for him to brood in peace, and the lack of anonymity creates a whole new level of threat, unlike anything he's used to. "The Crown Prince Syndrome" also reveals what life is like for the rest of the team, especially Connor, who finds out that being a "chosen one" isnıt anywhere near as easy as his dad makes it look.

Each issue in this arc will also feature a special parallel story by Bill Williams and Messina, introducing a new character created by Willingham and Williams, Eddie Hope.
