According to Hollywood trades, Sony Pictures is postponing the production start of Spider-Man 4.

An unnamed source within Sony told Daily Variey that the sequel will not begin production in February, as originally scheduled.

Acccording to the Hollywood Reporter, the production delay is due to script difficulties, specifically over the use of villains in the movie. The report indicates director Sam Raimi wants the Vulture, while the studio is pushing the Black Cat.

Alvin Sargent is currently working on the screenplay, following passes by James Vanderbilt, David Lindsay-Abaire and Gary Ross.

The studio has set a May 6, 2011 release date for the film, but it is unclear if that is still obtainable.

A storyline that has The Archies meeting Josie and the Pussycats will begin in April, Archie Comics has announced.

The publisher has released the cover to Archie #608, a story titled "It Starts with a Kiss."

Here's how Archie describes the issue:

"Two of the greatest bands in comic0book history hook up like never before when Josie and the Pussycats come to town to tour with The Archies. However, more than music is made on one starry night outside Archie's home, when there's a kiss that could change Riverdale forever. Is it possible that the pure-hearted, red-haired lead of The Archies is really falling in love with Valerie, the beautiful bassist/songwriter of Josie and the Pussycats? What will happen to Betty and Veronica? 'It Starts with a Kiss' is the beginning of a tale to be continued. Don't miss out while the world watches to see if Archie and Valerie have what it takes to make their love survive."

The issue is written by Dan Parent, with art by Bill Galvan.
