The first of what could be as many as 20 DC Nation panels led by Dan DiDio in 2010 was staged on Saturday at MegaCon in Orlando, Fla.

DiDio was joined by Jimmy Palmiotti, Ethan Van Sciver and Tony Bedard.

HACK/SLASH TO IMAGE COMICS

Tim Seeley and Image Comics announced on Saturday that Image will be publishing Seeley's Hack/Slash.

Hack/Slash: My First Maniac, a new four-issue mini-series written by Seeley and illustrated by Daniel Leister, will be the inaugural launch for Hack/Slash at Image.

"My little creator-owned book is making the move to the biggest creator-owned comic company!" Seeley said. "The move is sanctioned by Devil's Due Publishing, and Josh Blaylock has been helping me with the transition.

"June will see the release of the first issue of Hack/Slash: My First Maniac, which is set in Cassie's past and is the perfect tale for new readers as well as those who've been following the book for several years. And, best of all, my crack creative team of artist Dan Leister, colorist Mark Englert, editor Jim Lowder and letterer Crank! are coming with me to Image-Land."

Said Image publisher Eric Stephenson: "After working with Tim on Loaded Bible, we welcomed the chance to collaborate with him again. We are delighted that Tim decided to move Hack/Slash to Image!"

Here's how Image describes the new series, which luanches on June 9:

"Hack/Slash: My First Maniac explores Cassie's first case. 16-year-old Cassie Hack has just been forced to kill her mother, the undead murderer known as the Lunch Lady. Now faced with overwhelming guilt, she must decide if she can make a life with her foster parents or use her new-found slasher killing skills to save other screaming teenagers. But does the apple fall far from the tree?

Image on June 9 will also release nw printings of Hack/Slash Omnibus Vol. 1 and Hack/Slash, Vol. 3: Friday the 31st.



SMALLVILLE: "ESCAPE"

The CW has released a description from "Escape," the Friday, April 2 episode of Smallville.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Clark (Tom Welling) and Lois (Erica Durance) head out of town for a quiet romantic getaway, but their plans are thwarted when they run into Chloe (Allison Mack) and Oliver (Justin Hartley) at their Bed & Breakfast Inn. The couples' awkward moment is interrupted by the arrival of the Silver Banshee (guest star Odessa Rae), who sets her sights on Clark and Oliver.

"Meanwhile, Tess (Cassidy Freeman) faces off with Zod (Callum Blue) with a surprising result."

Kevin Fair directed the episode, which was written by Genevieve Sparling.

THE A-TEAM: WAR STORIES: HANNIBAL

The A-Team: War Stories: Hannibal, the first of four issues spotlighting characters from the upcoming movie, arrives in stores on Wednesday, March 17.

During The Continuum's recent visit to IDW Publishing in San Diego, editor Tom Waltz talked about the issue, which is written by Chuck Dixon and Erik Burnham, with art by Hugo Petrus.

IRON MAN 2 MINIMATES

Diamond Select Toys has released the final promotional image for Marvel Minimates Series 35, which spotlights Iron Man 2.

The image reveals tthe red-and-silver Iron Man 2: Mark V Iron Man Minimate, a small, collectible version of the armored Tony Stark seen at the end of the trailer that debuted last week.

Designed and sculpted by Art Asylum, Marvel Minimates Series 35 includes two-packs of Iron Man/Whiplash, Iron Man/War Machine and Pepper Potts/an unidentified army-builder mystery figure, plus a one-per-case Happy Hogan Variant.
