DICK GIORDANO'S FINAL PROJECT

Bob Layton told The Continuum that the final project of Dick Giordano -- who died on Saturday at age 77 -- will be completed.

Layton said that the graphic novel version of Colony, the web comic he and Giordano were working on, will be released, perhaps as early as September. The publisher has yet to be announced.

"Thankfully, Dick was able to get the book laid out before he became ill," Layton said. "So, I'm determined to see the project through as a final tribute to his stellar career.

"There have been 105 pages of the saga published on my website (www.boblayton.com) and another 40 pages of pencils currently being written and inked by me."

THE SIMPSONS: "CHIEF OF HEARTS"

Chief Wiggum is spotlighted in "Chief of Hearts," the Sunday, April 18 episode of The Simpsons on Fox.

Here's how Fox describes the episode:

"Homer is completing his court-ordered community service when he befriends his supervisor, Chief Wiggum, by offering him one of his sandwiches. Touched by the act of kindness, Wiggum assigns the other convicts unpleasant tasks, but allows Homer to join him at the picnic table. They continue to grow close, but when the Chief gets injured during a botched bank robbery, Homer doesn't come through when Wiggum needs him the most.

"Meanwhile, Bart becomes addicted to Battle Ball, a Japanese game made up of plastic balls and magnetic cards, and his family and teachers try to help him kick the habit."
