DC UNIVERSE ANIMATED ROUNDUP

Batman: Year One, the comic-book story by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchilli, is being adapted into one of Warner Home Video's DC Universe animated movies, The Continuum has learned.

According to sources, the film will be directed by Sam Liu, who co-directed Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths.

Warner Bros. did not confirm the film's existence. The studio has not commented on projects until their announced release.

In other DC animated

* An announcement is expected soon on the voice of Green Arrow in the DC Showcase short that will accompany a DC Universe animated movie release.

The Green Arrow short was written by Greg Weisman, who is producing the Young Justice series for Cartoon Network.

"It's a pretty lively piece," producer Alan Burnett said.

* Burnett, who has worked on more animated versions of Batman than anyone, said that Batman: Under the Red Hood -- due for release on July 27 -- will be as emotional as any of his Batman projects.

THOR CREATORS

Marvel Comics has announced the new Thor creative team of Matt Fraction, Pasqual Ferry and Matt Hollingsworth, beginning with #615 in September.

Following the events of Kieron Gillen's run, the ruins of Asgard are now a target and a dark, destructive force from another dimension is on its way to ravage all nine realms -- including Earth.

"I can't wait to unleash our Thor on you unsuspecting humans," Fraction said. "Things were intimidating enough when Pasqual, Matt, and I had to follow up JMS and Olivier-- that we've got to take up arms after Kieron and company's stellar stand makes it all the moreso.

"All we can promise you is that Thor will overflow with colossal and cosmic action, giant space gods smashing each other in the faces with hammers, and all of the earth trembling in the balance. In short: everything that has made Thor great."
