IMAGE COMICS FIRST LOOKS

TRUE BLOOD: "BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN"

HBO has released nine images and a description from "Beautifully Broken," Sunday's new episode of True Blood.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare), the Vampire King of Mississippi, concocts a plan to consolidate his power; Eric remembers his past; Sam tests the strength of his family bonds; Tara finds an ally in shady vampire Franklin Mott (James Frain)."

The episode was written by Raelle Tucker and directed by Scott Winant.





JONAH HEX NO. 5 AT BOX OFFICE

Jonah Hex placed fifth at the box office in its opening day on Friday.

The film, based on the DC Comics character, brought in an estimated $1.9 million.

Toy Story 3 topped the box office with an estimated $41 million.

Iron Man 2 was 10th on Friday with $0.7 million, pushing its total to $302.0 million. The sequel will be hard press to match the $318.4 million total of Iron Man in 2008.

BRIEFLY

* The Black Panther animated series, originally produced for BET, will now be released as Black Panther: Who Is The Black Panther?, a 12-episode weekly series debuting on iTunes, Xbox LIVE, Microsoft Zune and PlayStationNetwork on June 23.

The series is produced by Reginald Hudlin and is based on the comics book by Hudlin and John Romita Jr. The cast includes Djimon Hounsou as Black Panther, Jill Scott as Storm, Kerry Washington as Princess Shuri, Alfre Woodard as both Dondi Reese and Queen Mother, Carl Lumbly as Uncle S'Yan and Stan Lee as a general.
