WOMEN OF MARVEL FRAME VARIANTSMarvel Comics has released a first look at Women of Marvel, its latest variant initiative.
The variants will continue throughout August by a variety of artists. Stuart Immonen and Laura Martin have provided the frame art.
Variants shown above include:
* Invincible Iron Man #29 by Salvador Larroca, in stores on August 11.
* Uncanny X-Men #527 by Sara Pichelli, in stores on August 11.
* New Avengers #3 by Joe Quinones, in stores on August 18.
* Amazing Spider-Man #641, by John Tyler Christopher, in stores on August 25.
* Captain America #609 by Mike Perkins, in stores on August 25.
RED MOVIE TRAILERSummit Entertainment has released the first trailer for Red, the film based on the WildStorm comic book by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner.

Here's how Summit describes the film:
"Red is the story of Frank Moses (Bruce Willis), a former black-ops CIA agent, who is now living a quiet life. That is, until the day a hi-tech assassin shows up intent on killing him. With his identity compromised and the life of the woman he cares for, Sarah (Mary-Louise Parker), endangered, Frank reassembles his old team (Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren) in a last ditch effort to survive."
The fim is scheduled for an Oct. 15 release.

BRIEFLY* Archaia Comics has announced that Phil Hester will team with artist David Marquez on all five issues of its second Days Missing mini-series, Kestus, with Roddenberry Productions.
Alex Ross will lead off a variety of cover artists. Click on the thumbnail for a larger image of his cover for #1.
A preview book written by Trevor Roth and drawn by Marquez will be available for free at Comic-Con International in San Diego next month.
