MARVEL COMICS ROUNDUP

Marvel Comics has released a teaser images for X-Men #2.

The image was accompanied by the tagline "The First in the Curse of the Mutants."

X-Men #2 will be in stores on August 11. Click on the thumbnail for a larger image.

* Marvel has named C.B. Cebulski to senior vice president, creator and content development of Marvel Entertainment

According to Marvel, Cebulski, "will discover, develop and nurture new talent, brainstorm new initiatives and advise on creative directions for Marvel's key titles."

LADY DEATH RETURNS

New publisher Boundless Comics has announced that Brian Pulido's heroine will return in October with Lady Death Premiere, a free preview comic book with a story that leads directly into December's Lady Death series.

Lady Death has been re-imagined by Pulido and co-writer Mike Wolfer for a new ongoing monthly series in a way that is respectful to the character's loyal fan base, yet wide open and welcoming to curious newcomers.

The Lady Death Premiere comic will feature art by Marcelo Mueller. In addition to the free comic, limited-edition variants will be available at regional conventions, while select retailers will be offering bonus editions at their stores.

Here's how Boundless describes the books:

"Lady Death Premiere delivers the most terrifying tale in the characterÕs illustrious history, an apocalyptic saga that will tear through two dimensions and leave long-time fans reeling! For the first time, Lady Death will face the monumental threat of Death Queen, a viciously sadistic villainess who shares Lady Death's face, has her powers... and before their first encounter is over, she will have her life! The blood-drenched spectacle continues in DecemberÕs release of the first full-sized issue of the Lady Death monthly series."

Boundless Comics is a new publisher of comics and graphic novels created by William Christensen.

* DC Comics has announced a November launch for an ongoing T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents series. Nick Spencer and CAFU are the creative team, with each issue featuring a 20-page lead story and a 10-page co-feature.

Featuring a new batch of recruits brought in to take on the mantle of the original Agents, the team faces some difficult choices of its own, while revisiting the classic team's troubled past and deadliest threats.
