Syfy has announced a January return for the second half of the first season of Caprica. An exact date has not been announced for the show, which kicks off with the citizens of Caprica dealing with the chaotic aftermath of the mid-season finale's events.

A new trailer for Season 1.5 will premiere at Caprica's Comic-Con International panel on Friday.

Here's how Syfy sets up the show:

"In season 1.5, the once idyllic world of Caprica -- as well as life across the colonies -- falls prey to an explosive chain reaction of consequences set off by the characters' many questionable actions in the season's first half. Tensions rise, power shifts and the line between reality and the virtual world becomes increasingly blurred as everyone struggles to learn -- and conquer -- the stakes in this volatile setting. As the season races towards its stunning conclusion, events of each episode lay the framework for the inevitable (and brutal) clash between the newly-created Cylon race and their human creators."

* The publisher has announced an Oct. 27 release for Emitown, the first collection from diary comics creator Emi Lenox.

"Emitown was my challenge to draw everyday and also my way to record all the little moments that made me laugh, cry, or downright frustrated," Lenox said. "I never thought it would one day be a book, and I am so excited to work with Image to make it happen! Emitown feels right with Image."

Here's how Image describes the book:

"In Emitown, Lenox brings you into her world with superb cartooning, a brilliant cast of characters, and an innocent perspective often left on the cutting room floor of other diary comics. With a broad range of styles, every day is an adventure, from a morning breakfast burrito to metaphoric tales of superheroes and battlefields of love. Emi proves that life is never dull in her first annual collection of Emitown."

The 400-page, two-color book will cost $19.99.
