SUPERMAN/BATMAN: APOCALYPSE

Producer/director Lauren Montgomery returns to the lineup of DC Universe animated movies with Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, due in stores on Sept. 28.

THE SUPER HERO SQUAD SHOW UPDATE

Season 2 of Cartoon Network's The Super Hero Squad Show will spotlight Iron Man in an episode featuring Marvel's classic horror comics.

At the recent Comic-Con International in San Diego, Marvel Animation's Cort Lane talked to The Continuum about the episode. To view his comments, CLICK HERE.

The episode is titled "This Man-Thing! This Monster!" It was written by comics and animation veteran John Rozum and was directed by Patty Shinagawa.

Dave Boat, a series regular as Thor, provides the voices of Dracula and Man-Thing. Nina Dobrev guests as Ellen Brandt and Rob Paulsen guests as Jack Russell.

DC COMICS NEWS ROUNDUP

DC Comics has announced a November launch for The All-New Batman: The Brave and the Bold, based on the Cartoon Network animated series.

The first two issues will be written by Sholly Fisch, with art by Rick Burchett, and will feature Superman and Shazam.

In other DC news:

* Howard Chaykin is writing and drawing a one-shot to be released in November that features Cavalier, Catwoman and Batman. In the story, Cavalier frames Catwoman for a string of burglaries and Bruce Wayne for cleaning out the Wayne Enterprises vault.

* Warner Home Video has announced a Nov. 9 release for Secret Origin: The Story of DC Comics, a documentary that takes viewers behind the scenes of the company with unprecedented access to the Warner Bros. and DC Comics archives. Narrated by Green Lantern star Ryan Reynolds, Secret Origin: The Story of DC Comics will be available on DVD for $24.99, as well as On Demand and for download.

Secret Origin: The Story of DC Comics is written and directed by Mac Carter.
