SMALLVILLE: "SUPERGIRL"

The CW has released a description of "Supergirl," the Friday, Oct. 8 episode of Smallville.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Clark (Tom Welling) is stunned when Kara (guest star Laura Vandervoort) returns to Earth and tells him Jor El sent her to stop the dark force that is coming because he doesnŐt believe Clark can handle it.

"Meanwhile, Lois (Erica Durance) confronts Gordon Godfrey (guest star Michael Daingerfield), a shock jock radio DJ who has been crusading against heroes, after he threatens the Green Arrow (Justin Hartley). However, after Godfrey is possessed by the dark force, he takes Lois hostage and Clark and Kara have to come to her rescue."

The episode was written by Ann Cofeil Saunders and was directed by Mairzee Almas.

HUMAN TARGET: "THE WIFE'S TALE"

Fox has released a description of "The Wife's Tale," the Friday, Oct. 8 episode of Human Target.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Chance (Mark Valley) is hired to protect the wife of a man he killed seven years ago. Meanwhile, Ames (Janet Montgomery) hopes Guerrero (Jackie Earle Haley) will take her under his wing, and Ilsa is shocked at what she discovers about the business."

Guest-stars include Molly Parker, M.C. Gainey, Dino Antoniou, Adrian Hein and John Shaw.

* Ryan Reynolds appeared on NBC's Today Show on Friday and talked briefly about the Green Lantern movie.

He hit two topics he has talked about before: Not knowing much about Green Lantern before getting the role and how hot it was to film in New Orleans.
