BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD NEW EPISODES

Cartoon Network has scheduled five new episodes of Batman: The Brave and the Bold in October, The Continuum has learned.

Following is a rundown; official synopses will be released early this week.

Friday, Oct. 1: "Requiem for a Scarlet Speedster!"

Written by Greg Weisman and directed by Michael Chang. Seeking the missing Barry Allen, Batman, the Golden Age Flash and Kid Flash travel to the future, where Professor Zoom rules.

The opener features Batman and the Outsiders against Kobra.

Guest-voices include Alan Tudyk as Barry Allen, John Wesley Shipp as Professor Zoom, Steve Blum as Captain Cold and Heat Wave, Robin Atkin Downes as Weather Wizard, Scott Menville as Metamorpho, Andy MIlder as Jay Garrick, Hunter Parrish as Wally West and Bumper Robinson as Black Lightning.

Friday, Oct. 8: "The Last Patrol!"

Features the Doom Patrol, with Batgirl (voiced by Mae Whitman) and Killer Moth in the opener. Written by J.M. DeMatteis, directed by Ben Jones.

Friday, Oct. 15: "The Mask of Matches Malone!" Batman gets amnesia while in his Matches Malone persona. Features a musical number by the Birds of Prey, including Black Canary and the Huntress. The opener includes Black Orchid and Poison Ivy. Written by Gail Simone, directed by Michael Chang.

Friday, Oct. 22: "Menace of the Madniks!"

Featuring Booster Gold and Blue Beetle in a time-travel story.

Friday, Oct. 29: "Emperior Joker!"

This is the episode that was screened at Comic-Con, written by Steven Melching and directed by Ben Jones. The Joker accidentally gets Bat-Mite's powers and kills Batman -- many times. Features a musical number with the Joker and guest-stars Harley Quinn.

The opener features Rainbow Batman and Robin in an homage to Detective Comics #241 cover.

NO ORDINARY FAMILY EPISODES

ABC has released descriptions for two upcoming episodes of No Ordinary Family.

The Tuesday, Oct. 5 episode is titled "No Ordinary Marriage." Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Jim attempts to track down some elusive bank robbers, Stephanie looks into discovering the source of the family's newly acquired powers, and Daphne, trying to find a way keep the voices in her head from drowning out her ability to read minds, discovers that JJ has become a super genius but is hiding it from the family. Meanwhile Jim and Stephanie not only keep their powers a secret from the world but from each other too, as Stephanie discovers Jim has become a crime fighter and Jim finds out that Stephanie has used her new power of speed -- after promising not to."

The Tuesday, Oct. 12 episode is titled "No Ordinary Ring." Here's how the network describes the episode:

"After Stephanie's ring is stolen during a robbery at a high-end wedding, Jim and George become wedding crashers in an attempt to catch the thugs. Meanwhile, after learning that assistant Katie misguidedly used her own blood to cover for Stephanie's company physical exam - fearing that the results would reveal her powers - Stephanie is forced to use her powers in order to retrieve the blood sample from a secure lab; against her parents' wishes, Daphne wants to tell her friend Megan about her telepathic abilities after she inadvertently reads her mind and blurts out what she heard; and JJ asks Daphne to scan the mind of a cute girl to find out if she has feelings for him."

BRIEFLY

* Marvel Comics has announced a second printing for the sold-out Fantastic Four #583, which kicks off the "Three" story. The second printing will be in stores on Oct. 27, the same day as Fantastic Four #584.
