DARK HORSE COMICS FIRST LOOKS

FIRST LOOK: BALTIMORE: THE PLAGUE SHIPS #3

Baltimore: The Plague Ships #3 will arrive in stores on Oct. 6 from Dark Horse Comics. The issue is written by Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden, with art by Ben Stenbeck and a cover by Mignola.

Here's how Dark Horse describes the issue:

"After a furious storm rips apart their ship, Baltimore and Vanessa wash up on an island shore in the midst of a graveyard of submarines. While taking refuge they stumble upon a ruined plague ship--a vessel used to burn vampires--now entrenched in a grotesque and dangerous fungus."

Baltimore: The Plague Ships #3 will be 32 pages and will cost $3.50.

FIRST LOOK: BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER #37

Buffy the Vampire Slayer #37 will arrive in stores on Oct. 6 from Dark Horse Comics. The issue is written by Joss Whedon, with art by Georges Jeanty and covers by Jeanty and Jo Chen.

Here's how Dark Horse describes the issue:

"'Last Gleaming,' part 2. Spike and Buffy are finally reunited (*sigh*) and lucky him -- he's discovered the source of all her problems, and it's not Angel. Now Buffy must revisit the place where love was indiscriminate, the Scoobies were formed and Hell's mouth was closed for good."

FIRST LOOK: DOCTOR SOLAR, MAN OF THE ATOM #3

Doctor Solar, Man of the Atom #3 will arrive in stores on Oct. 6 from Dark Horse Comics. The issue is written by Jim Shooter, with art by Roger Robinson and a cover by Michael Komarck.

Here's how Dark Horse describes the issue:

"The dark god Moloch the Devourer pits his demonic hellfire against the thermonuclear fury of Doctor Solar. Whitmore Pickerel, whose power to bring his imagination into existence unleashed the Devourer, conjures the mighty sun--god Surya for protection. FIRST LOOK: METALOCALYPSE/DETHKLOK #1

Metalocalypse/Dethklok #1 will arrive in stores on Oct. 6 from Dark Horse Comics. The issue is written by Brendon Small, Jeremy Barlow and Jon Schnepp, with art by Lucas Marangon.

Here's how Dark Horse describes the issue:

"They're the most brutal black--metal band on the planet and the world's seventh-largest economy, five men prophesied to bring about the Metalocalypse. They are DETHKLOK . . . and they are about to enter the food chain. After a series of sponsorship deals goes sour, Dethklok launches a line of frozen meals in hopes of reclaiming their metal throne.
