ALL-STAR SUPERMAN MOVIE ON FEB. 22

Warner Home Video has announced a Feb. 22 release for the animated All-Star Superman movie, as well as Green Lantern: Emerald Knights as the movie to follow.

(To view the trailer for All-Star Superman, CLICK HERE.)

All-Star Superman is based on the comic book by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely. The film will be distributed by Warner Home Video as a Blu-Ray Combo Pack and 2-Disc Special Edition DVD for $24.98 (SRP), as well as single disc DVD for $19.98 (SRP). The film will also be available through OnDemand and for download.

Here's how Warner describes the movie:

"The Man of Steel rescues an ill-fated mission to the Sun (sabotaged by Lex Luthor) and, in the process, is oversaturated by radiation -- which accelerates his cell degeneration. Sensing even he will be unable to cheat death, Superman ventures into new realms -- finally revealing his secret to Lois, confronting Lex Luthor's perspective of humanity, and attempting to ensure Earth's safety before his own impending end with one final, selfless act."

The voice case includes James Denton as Superman, Christina Hendricks as Lois Lane, Anthony LaPaglia as Lex Luthor, Ed Asner as Perry White, Frances Conroy as Ma Kent, Matthew Gray Gubier as Jimmy Olse and Linda Cardellini as Nasty.

The cast also includes Arnold Vosloo, Catherine Cavadini, Finola Hughes, Alexis Denisof, Obba Babatunde, Michael Gough and John DiMaggio.

The movie was written by Dwayne McDuffie and directed by Sam Liu.

Both the DVD Special Edition and Blu-ray will contain a preview of Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, the next film in the DC Universe series. The Blu-ray's 2-and-a-half hours of bonus materials will include a feature on Grant Morrison, commentary from Morrison and executive producer Bruce Timm and a digital comic.

THE AVENGERS: EARTH'S MIGHTIEST HEROES: KARI WAHLGREN

Kari Wahlgren has gone from one manipulator to another.

Wahlgren -- who voiced Emma Frost in Wolverine and the X-Men -- is providing the voice of Enchantress in Disney XD's The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Enchantress figures in the next new episode, "Masters of Evil," which debuts on Disney XD on Sunday, Dec. 5 at 10 a.m., the show's new time period.

"I love playing villains, especially, so the Enchantress is really fun for me to play," Wahlgren said. "She's very droll, so she can be causing this mass chaos and crushing entire civilizations underneath her foot, and just be doing it in the most droll way. I just have such a fun time playing characters like that. She's been a lot of fun.

"The Enchantress uses magic as her powers. She casts a lot of spells. She can entrance people. It's very fun."

The role continues Wahlgren's work in the super-hero genre. Her many credits also include Saturn Girl and Triplicate Girl in Legion of Super-Heroes.

"The Avengers is just an exciting, action-packed super-hero cartoon," Wahlgren said. "I think they really got it right. They do a great job with the characters, the storylines are wonderful. It's a pretty exciting show."
