20th Century Fox has released five high-resolution stills and a high-resolution version of the first poster for X-Men: First Class.

Fox has also released an official description of the movie:

"X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men."

Fox has also released descriptions of the images.

In the first image, "Michael Fassbender portrays Erik Lehnsherr, who has the power to control magnetism. Lehnsherr is determined to exact revenge on the monstrous evil who 'created' him."

In the second image, "Before Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men who became the closest of friends. Here they enjoy a game of chess -- the first of many they would play over their long and evolving history."

In the third image, "James McAvoy portrays Charles Xavier, a powerful telepath who can read and control minds."

In the fourth image, "Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender, left foreground) and Charles Xavier (James McAvoy, right foreground) lead Cassidy (Caleb Landry Jones, left), Raven Darkholme (Jennifer Lawrence), Dr. Moira McTaggert (Rose Byrne), Hank McCoy (Nicholas Hoult), and Alex Summers (Lucas Till) in a battle to prevent nuclear war."

Marvel Animation has released four new images and a descripton from "Lo, How the Mighty Have Abdicated!," the new episode of The Super Hero Squad Show airing on Cartoon Network on Saturday at 6:30 a.m.

Here's how Marvel describes the episode:

"The Squaddies find themselves in a bind when the Enchantress tricks Thor's father and the reigning king of Asgard, Odin, into marriage, forcing Thor to take over the throne in the absence of his love-struck papa. The mayhem doesn't stop there because Magneto is stirring up trouble and only his daughter, the Scarlet Witch, can put a stop to it!"

The episode was written by Charlotte Fullerton and directed by Patty Shinagawa.

"(Thor)'s always a ton of fun to write for," Fullerton told The Continuum, "and David Boat somehow manages to play him just perfectly as an extremely capable doofus, which considering this show is a comedy is, y'know, a good thing, but it really is a tricky balancing act for us to keep the heroes heroic while also allowing them be laugh-out-loud funny. Luckily our head writer Matt Wayne knows a thing or two about super heroes.

"It was a blast to spend so much of this episode in Asgard, getting to write for classic Asgardians like Odin and the Enchantress, and especially Loki. I can't wait to see how his scenes turned out! Ted Biaselli had everybody in the recording studio busting up."
