BLUEWATER PRODUCTIONS' THE WAVE

Bluewater Productions has announced a super-hero publishing intiative beginning this fall.

Guided by art director Gregg Paulson and line editroe AE Stueve, the line launches with The Wave #0, which leads into four four-issue mini-series revolving around mythological heroes and gods in modern times.

The titles include Artemis, Orion, Hercules and Trident: The Power of Poseidon.

"These comics will show the world that Bluewater Productions is not just about biography and property comics, but it can produce well written, beautifully drawn superhero stories as well," said Stueve, who will also write Orion. "I think what the coolest thing though is that we are using the shared universe formula familiar to fans of Marvel and DC, but right now we don't have a convoluted back-story of characters who, in some cases, have been around for nearly 100 years."

ŇAs a kid I was fond of mythology, so I am excited to see what they are going to do with it," said Bluewater president Darren G. Davis.

IMAGE COMICS ROUNDUP

Image Comics has announced a second second printing for the sold-out Elephantmen: Man and Elephantman.

"We expected a little more attention than usual with this issue, but the near-immediate sellout actually surprised us," creator Richard Starkings said. "Obviously, it's quite flattering when a book sells so quickly, but since Man and Elephantmen is such a great jumping on point for where Axel (Medellin, artist) and I are taking the series, we want to make sure there are more copies available so that everyone can come on board."

The second printing will be in stores on May 4, followed by Elephantmen #31 on May 11.

In other Image news:

* Image has announced a July 6 launch for The Red Wing, a creator-owned, four-issue series from writer Jonathan Hickman, with art by Nick Pitarra.

Here's how Image describes the book:

"Set in a future where the best fighter pilots in the world not only have to master their craft and perfect their skills, the heroes of The Red Wing also have to learn how to navigate through time.

"Well, I've been promising I'd get to this for over a year, so now it's time," Hickman said. "We'll start with The Red Wing, and then I'll be writing and drawing something called, Feel Better Now, before Nick and I move on to our next exciting project. We have a busy, aggressive slate of exciting stories to tell, and, like I said before, it's time."

* Dave Gibbons and Michael Kaluta are providing variant covers for Turf #5, the final issue that goes on sale on April 27.
