THOR MOVIE ROUNDUP

Promotion for the Thor movie is well underway with a press conference in London at the Mirror Room of Claridges Hotel on Monday.

Attending the press conference were director Kenneth Branagh and actors Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Tom Hiddleston (Loki).

The film opens in the UK on April 27.

MARVEL/DISNEY'S MUPPETS IN JULY

Marvel Comics and Disney Publishing have announced a July release for Disney/Muppets Presents: Meet the Muppets, a 96-page comic featuring stories by Roger Langridge.

Here's how Marvel describes the book:

"The gang plans to revive their variety show and bring back favorite sketches like 'Pigs in Space' and 'Veterinarian's Hospital.' Meanwhile, Kermit misses the swamp, and the gang tries to cheer him up. Fozzy revamps his standup act, but everything he tries gets the same boos as his original routine. Scooter attempts to figure out once and for all what species Gonzo belongs to. And a psychic tells Miss Piggy she's going to lose something green."

"Together with Disney Publishing, we're extremely excited to bring the Muppets to the comics world and continue to grow their audience," said Marvel editor-in-chief Axel Alonso.. ÒMarvel will ensure that Disney¥/Muppets Presents will be available at all retail segments for its cross-generational fan base. * Hermes Press has announced it will reprint the Silver Age of Adventures of Lee Falk's The Phantom, starting with Gold Key's 1962 version, in eight hardcover volumes.

Hermes Press recently added The Phantom daily strips to their archival series, with Volume 3 due in May. The Phantom comic book reprint series will span 15 years and encompassing 17 Gold Key comics, 11 King Phantom comics and all 45 Charlton Phantom issues.

The Phantom The Complete Series: The Gold Key Years: Volume One reprints The Phantom #1-8, with stories by Bill Harris, art by Bill Lignante and cover art by George Wilson. It will be 256 pages and will cost $49.99.
