BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD: WONDER WOMAN

Wonder Woman makes her first speaking appearance on Batman: The Brave and the Bold in the opening segment of the "Scorn of the Star Sapphire!" episode.

In addition to such Wonder Woman staples as Steve Trevor and the Invisible Jet, producer Michael Jelenic told The Continuum that the segment features "a pretty great homage to the TV series."

Wonder Woman's voice is done by Vicki Lewis, who also provides the voice of Star Sapphire.

Producer James Tucker told The Continuum that Batman will have an interesting dynamic with Superman and Wonder Woman on the show. "Hopefully, the audience will get the sense that they've been friends a long time," he said.

The episode is scheduled to air on Friday, May 27 on Cartoon Network.

SPIDER-ISLAND: DEADLY FOES

Marvel Comics has announced Spider-Island: Dead Foes #1, a one-shot in August that features the Jackal and Hobgoblin as they try to take advantage of the mass hysteria to destroy Spider-Man.

The book is written by Dan Slott, Christos Gage and Fred Van Lente, with art by Giuseppe Camuncoli and Minck Oosterveer.

"The new Hobgoblin and the Jackal play central roles in Slott and (Humbert) Ramos' Spider-Island epic," said editor Steve Wacker. "With this double-sized special we're giving the readers two thrilling, death-defying stories connected directly to Spider-Island's main artery.

"This ain't just a couple origin stories. Chris Gage and Fred Van Lente worked closely with Dan to weave stories that serve to violently expand the main Spider-Island plot."

The book has a cover by Stefano Caselli and will cost $4.99.
