COMICS CONTINUUM TELEVISION SERIES: EPISODE 36

It aired earlier on TV20 in Detroit and now Episode 36 of the Comics Continuum television series is available online.

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS TOPS BOX OFFICE

X-Men: First Class topped the weekend box office with an estimated $56.0 million, becoming the fifth consecutive movie in the 20th Century Fox franchise to open No. 1.

As the only major studio opening of the weekend, X-Men: First Class breezed to the top spot, beating the $33.2 million from runner-up The Hangover Part II.

According to initial report, the movie has taken in $120 million worldwide.

Since Blade in August 1998, 19 of 23 Marvel movies have opened in the top spot.

Thor placed sixth with $4.2 million, pushing its total to $169.1 million. It has a chance of passing X-Men Origins: Wolverine for No. 8 among Marvel movies.

BRIEFLY

* Cowboys & Aliens won for "Most Anticipated Movie" at the Spike TV Guys Choice Awards, filmed Saturday at the Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, Calif.

Star Harrison Ford and director Jon Favreau accepted the award.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley from Transformers: Dark of the Moon was named "Our New Girlfriend."

The Avengers movie was well represented with appearances by Chris Evans (Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye).

The awards ceremonies will premiere on Spike TV on Friday, June 10 at 9 p.m.

* Warner Home Video has announced a July 12 release for ThunderCats: The Original Series Season 1 Part 1 on DVD.

The two-disc set, priced to own at $19.97, includes the first 12 episodes, as well as a featurette entitled "Feel the Magic, Hear the Roar," where fans speak out about their passion for the series.
