MARVEL COMICS ROUNDUP

Marvel Comics has released a four-page preview of Fear Itself #4.

The publisher has announced that Uncanny X-Men #544 in October will be the series finale.

Here's how Marvel describes the issue:

"Years in the making, the seeds of dissent finally bear fruit as the events of X-Men Schism tear the X-Men and the Marvel Universe apart! When the dust settles, the state of mutantkind will irreparably be changed forever."

The issue is written Kieron Gillen, wit hart and cover by Greg Land.

* Marvel has announced that Daredevil will be joining the New Avengers with #16 in September in a story by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato Jr.

* Artist Neal Adams returns to the Avengers with New Avengers #16.1 in September.

"Every single panel is so filled with life and vitality. The most diehard Neal Adams fans will be blown away because you are seeing things you have not seen from him before," Bendis said. "You will be begging for a Neal Adams Iron Fist book when you see this issue."

Here's how Marvel describes the issue:

"Norman Osborn, the man who nearly destroyed the Avengers, is back! With the remnants of H.A.M.M.E.R back in action, led by the former Green Goblin, the New Avengers ready themselves for an explosive clash they won't soon forget.

* Image Comics has announced a second printing for the sold-out Shinku #1, to be released on July 7, the same day as the release of Shinku #2.

* Dark Horse Comics is offering a retailer incentive variant for Hellboy: The Fury #3 for any retailer whose order numbers for #3 match their order for #1.

* Valiant Entertainment has named former Wizard Entertainment president Fred Pierce as publisher and former Marvel editor Warren Simons as vice president - executive editor.

"Valiant has been quietly putting the key building blocks in place for a major reemergence in the entertainment industry. I'm very excited to be a part of it," said Pierce, who also was a member of the original Valiant publshing team. "I'm proud of what we accomplished at the original Valiant and the opportunity to be back allows me to come full circle, making this very important to me."
