IMAGE COMICS ROUNDUP

Image Comics has announced that Joe Casey and Nathan Fox are the new creative team on Haunt beginning with #19 of the series started by Robert Kirkman and Todd McFarlance.

Casey and Fox previously collaborated on Marvel Comics' Dark Reign: Zodiac.

"Opportunities like this -- to take over an existing property so early in its existence -- don't come around too often, and we're going to take full advantage," Casey said. "Todd and Robert created some great characters in the Kilgore brothers, and Nathan and I are locked and loaded to put them through hell."

"Filling the shoes of Robert Kirkman and Greg Capullo is a hard task, but I feel very fortunate that the new team coming on will keep the book flying high," McFarlane said. "I see it going down the pathway of the original Spawn book. Haunt is not going away. It's the second monthly book I've put out of my company in 20 years that I intend on seeing all the way through to the end."

In other Image news, Dustin Weaver is providing a variant cover to Jonathan Hickman's The Red Wing #1, in stores on July 6.

"I'm fortunate in that I get to work with a lot of extremely talented artists, and one of my favorites is my partner in crime on Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D., Dustin Weaver," Hickman said. "When I asked him if he'd be willing to contribute a cover for our debut issue, and he responded with this little slice of heaven, well, we were all pretty excited."
