BLUEWATER PRODUCTIONS' FICTIONAL TITLES

Bluewater Productions has provided The Continuum a first look at its launches for fictional titles for the rest of 2011.

The new books will join Mis-Adventures of Adam West, Vincent Price Presents, Logan's Run and Rain in Bluewater's roster of fictional titles.

"People have this impression that Bluewater only does biography comic books," said Bluewater's Darren G. Davis. "We were founded on fiction comic books such as the 10th Muse, Wrath of the Titans and Legend of Isis. More than 50 percent of what we publish is fiction, but the biographies get most of the press.

"We already are starting to figure out our lineup for 2012. The fiction stuff is my passion, and I love creating and writing some of these. Working with Adam West has been amazing -- and wait to see you see what we have planned for that one. We are now going to be doing this as an ongoing series and possibility a spin-off."

THE VAULT OPTIONED FOR MOVIE

The first issue of the mini-series from Image Comics has already sold out and Thursday night it was announced that the film rights for the book have been optioned by GK Films.

Sarkar is an executive at Johnny Depp's Infinitum Nihil production house. Depp and Nihil's president Christi Dembrowski will produce the movie, along with GK's Graham King and Tim Headington.

Reached by The Continuum for comment, Sarkar said, "So thankful and happy to have the support of Johnny, Christi, Graham, Tim and Denis in bringing the movie of the Vault to life. Lots more surprises to come!"

IMAGE COMICS' GREEN WAKE ONGOING

Image Comics and Shadowline Productions have announced they are making Green Wake -- by Kurtis Wiebe and Riley Rossmo -- into an ongoing series.

"The response to Green Wake has been so encouraging," said Wiebe. "It's such a great feeling to realize that this brand new idea, this new world that we've created in Green Wake resonates with readers, and that they want to read more."

"Kurtis and I have put a lot of strange, gory stuff into this book," Rossmo said. "Sometimes we stand back and look at what we've come up with, and there have been more than a few times that we've wondered, 'Is this too far?' Fortunately, it seems our readers are just as sick as we are!"

The first Green Wake trade paperback collection will be 136 pages for $16.99 and will be in stores on Sept. 21. Green Wake #6 will be in stores on Oct. 26.

"The move from mini-series to continuing series is what we hoped for, as Green Wake proved from the beginning to be a complex story full of new angles and side plots," Wiebe said. "At this point I think it's safe to say that we aren't going anywhere. Both Riley and I have plenty more up our sleeves, and this first collection is only the beginning!"
