DANIEL ACUNA NEW ARTIST OF AVENGERS

Marvel Comics has announced that Daniel Acuna will be the ongoing artist of Avengers, beginning with #18.

"Every time Daniel and I have worked together it has been a really fantastic experience and everyone loved it," said Avengers writer Brian Michael Bendis. "The only thing we have never done before is hunker down and make a real run of things together. So here we go!"

"As an artist and as a professional, I am extremely happy to be working with Brian again, Acuna said. "And come on, drawing the Avengers? They rule! Aside from being the best, most charismatic team in comics -- they always fight the biggest, meanest, and most powerful villains. All that, plus Captain America leading the team... what more can I ask for?"

Following the events of Fear Itself, the Avengers must regroup, and rebuild - including looking for new members as Norman Osborn pulls together a fresh batch of Dark Avengers.

Avengers #18 will be in stores on Oct. 19.

NEW SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH ANIMATED

Archie Comics has announced plans to partner with Moonscoop to create a new animated series based on Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.

Moonscoop and Archie are looking to launch the animated series with a network or cable partner in the coming year.

The Archie/Moonscoop partnership will bring a new look to the long-running character, with a modern and teen-centric sensibility. Sabrina will face the trials and tribulations all teens come across Š along with monsters and the supernatural.

"Sabrina is a huge and important character for Archie, so we were very careful in how we brought her back to animation. The team at Moonscoop are the perfect partners for us," said Archie co-CEO Jon Goldwater. "They know how to put together quality animation and they get the characters. WeÕre excited and honored to be working with such a talented group."

Recent Moonscop projects include Hero: 108, Tara Duncan, Fantastic Four, Casper, Code Lyoko, Titeuf and Wild Grinders.

Mike Young, CEO of MoonscoopÕs North American office said: "We can't wait to collaborate on production of these fantastic new shows. The Archie Comics library is a real treasure trove of brands ideal for bringing to animated life for television."
