CINEMACON: MARVEL STUDIOS' KEVIN FEIGE

THE AVENGERS MOVIE ROUNDUP

Worldwide promotion of The Avengers movie continued with an appearance by Jeremy Renner -- who plays Hawkeye -- in Beijing, China.

CINEMACON: THE LONE RANGER'S JOHNNY DEPP

At CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Johnny Depp talk about Walt Disney Pictures' The Lone Ranger, in which he plays Tonto.

Here's how Disney describes the movie:

"The Lone Ranger, directed by Gore Verbinski and featuring Johnny Depp as Tonto and Armie Hammer as John Reid, the Lone Ranger, is a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid, a man of the law, into a legend of justice -- taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption. The Lone Ranger is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and hits theaters May 31, 2013."



THUNDERCATS: "THE PIT"

Warner Bros. Animation has released two clips, a gallery of images and a description from "The Trials of Lion-O (Part Two)," the episode of ThunderCats premiering on Cartoon Network on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. (ET/PT).

Here's how the episode is described:

"Lion-O and company come upon a Dog City where they unexpectedly find a cat: Pumyra. This comes as a surprise since they believed all the cats were enslaved by Mumm-Ra, but an even greater surprise is that this cat has no love for Lion-O and, in the end, he's forced to face the cat down in a death match -- and she's not pulling any punches. Meanwhile, Panthro runs into an old friend turned enemy, Dobo."

* Animation Domination HD, the new animation unit created by Fox Broadcasting Company, has acquired the rights to the Axe Cop, it was announced by Nick Weidenfeld, head of Animation Domination HD. Axe Cop will premiere as part of Fox's new Saturday late-prime Animation Domination HD block (11 p.m.-12:30 a.m. ET/PT) debuting in 2013, and across digital platforms.

Axe Cop is the first new series in development by Animation Domination HD, with six quarter-hour episodes ordered.

"Axe Cop is one of the most creative, hilarious and naturally viral comic properties to emerge in the last decade," Weidenfeld said."I've hoped someone would adapt Axe Cop for television for years and couldn't be happier that we get to be that someone. Axe Cop has all the makings of an iconic animated series and it will help set the tone for Fox's new late-prime Saturday animation lineup."

Axe Cop was created as a web comic by then 5-year-old Malachai Nicolle and his 29-year-old brother, Ethan, and chronicles the adventures of an axe-wielding police officer and his loyal team of allies as they fight bad guys. Dark Horse Comics publishes the print collections.

At its upfront event, Syfy released a description of its upcoming Booster Gold project:

"Based on the best-selling DC Entertainment Comic, this is the story of a washed-up athlete from the future who travels back to the present in hopes of becoming the greatest superhero of all time. But instead of chasing criminals, his main priority is chasing fame and money. Booster Gold discovers that being a hero takes more than just a megawatt smile. Writer: Andrew Kreisberg (Arrow, Warehouse 13). Executive producers: Greg Berlanti (Green Lantern, Arrow) and Andrew Kreisberg. Producers: Greg Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television."
