MARVEL COMICS RELAUNCHES FANTASTIC FOUR

Marvel Comics has announced it is relaunching Fantastic Four again in February with the creative team of writer james Robinson and artist Leonard Kirk.

Here's how Marvel describes the series:

"The Fantastic Four's lives are full of deadly twists and turns. They've explored other dimensions, fought terrifying monsters, and stood together against some of the Marvel Universe's deadliest villains! But they've always done so together. So what happens when the Fantastic Four go their separate ways?

"The brilliant Mr. Fanstastic, the compassionate Invisible Woman, the hot headed Human Torch, and the ever lovin' Thing are about to embark on a new mission full of danger and excitement -- and one that will see the Fantastic Four meet their untimely end!"

"New readers and long-time Fantastic Four fans are in for an emotional and action-packed roller coaster ride that will tear the team apart at the seams," said editor Mark Paniccia. "Broken hearts, betrayal, conspiracies and even murder will test this family of super heroes beyond anything they've ever experienced."

Fantastic Four #1 will also feature a 75th anniversary cover by Alex Ross.

BRIEFLY

THE FUSE: Image Comics has announced a Feb. 12 launch for The Fuse, an ongoing "hard-bitten sci-fi crime series" from writer Antony Johnston and artist Justin Greenwood. The Fuse follows detectives Ristovych and Dietrich of Midway City's Homicide division, whose jurisdiction is an orbiting power station 22,000 miles up.

"I'm a sucker for detective stories, down-at-heel cop shows, and the kind of 'lived-in' sci-fi where everything feels like it might fall apart at any moment," Johnston said. "Combine those with a frontier attitude, where a half million people all think they can get away with murder, and you've got The Fuse."

Here's how the story is described:

"In 'The Russia Shift' Part One, we’re introduced to the permanently understaffed and overworked murder police on board 'The Fuse,' assigned to working a new frontier where the law struggles to be heard, let alone obeyed."

MARVEL TEASER: Marvel Comics has released a "Mortal" teaser for a project from Paul Cornell and Ryan Stegman in February. Click on the thumbnail for a larger image.

VERY BRIEFLY:20th Century Fox has moved its Fantastic Four reboot back for a June 19, 2015, release date, with Secret Service now slotted for March 6, 2015. ... Riddick will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on Jan. 14.
